2027: Adebayo reacts after emerging as SDP’s presidential candidate

Adewole Adebayo, has reacted to his emergence as the 2027 presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The lawyer and media entrepreneur clinched the party’s ticket at its National Convention in Bauchi on Saturday, May 9.

In a statement issued shortly after the event, Adebayo, who also served as the party’s flagbearer in 2023 expressed his gratitude to his supporters and party members.

He also stated that he joined the race to rescue Nigeria and her people from the several challenges bedevilling the nation.

His words, “I joined this race because Nigeria must be rescued from hunger, homelessness, joblessness, insecurity, and leadership failure.

“As I said in Bauchi, “Nigeria is not a private company. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians,” the two-time presidential candidate said.

In addition, Adebayo said his ambition to oust the incumbent President, Bola Tinubu is aimed at restoring hope and defending Nigeria’s democracy.

“This movement is not about one man. It is about restoring hope, defending democracy, and giving the Nigerian people a government that truly works in their interest.

“Together, we will move Nigeria from poverty and division to productivity, unity, and progress.

“The future is possible, and together, we will build a New Nigeria that works for everyone,” Adebayo said.
