The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved a fresh extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest the 2027 general elections.
The party also announced new dates for the screening of aspirants.
The revised timetable was disclosed on Monday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement posted on the party’s official 𝕏 handle.
According to Morka, the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will now continue until midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
He added that aspirants who had purchased forms now have until midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026, to submit their completed documents.
The extension is expected to give interested aspirants additional time to obtain and return their forms ahead of the party’s internal selection process for the 2027 elections.
The party also adjusted the schedule for the screening of aspirants.
Under the new arrangement, the screening exercise will hold from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The APC said the publication of screened aspirants would follow on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The revised timeline indicates that the party is working to accommodate more aspirants while ensuring that its pre-election processes are completed before the next stage of activities.
Although the statement did not give reasons for the fresh extension, the adjustment affects key pre-primary activities, including the sale of forms, submission of completed forms and the screening of aspirants.
