The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has revealed that his discussions with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, focused on the forthcoming general elections and other issues of mutual interest between Nigeria and the European Union.
Naijaonpoint reports that Atiku, in a post via his 𝕏 handle on Monday, revealed that he hosted Ambassador Mignot at his residence in Abuja.
According to Atiku, the meeting featured productive discussions on issues concerning Nigeria and the European Union, with particular emphasis on the 2027 election.
The former Vice President also expressed appreciation for Mignot’s visit and commended the European Union for its continued support for free, fair, peaceful, and credible elections in Nigeria, as well as its efforts to strengthen the country’s economy.
He said, “This afternoon, I had the honour of hosting His Excellency Ambassador Gautier Mignot, Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, at my residence in Abuja.
“We engaged in productive discussions on issues of mutual interest between Nigeria and the EU, with particular emphasis on the upcoming general elections.
“I expressed my appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit and for the European Union’s ongoing commitment to supporting free, fair, peaceful, and credible elections, as well as efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economy.”
