In a strong show of solidarity with the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Nneoha Support Group marched through the streets of Abakaliki today to commend the Governor’s quality service delivery and equally declared support for Governor Nwifuru’s second term bid.
The group, formed in solidarity with Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, later assembled to highlight the impact of the BERWO Foundation and reaffirm their support for the Governor.
According to the statement of solidarity presented, the group’s representatives from the 13 LGAs of Ebonyi State adopted resolutions appreciating the Governor’s performance within this short period in office.
The Nneoha Support Group, with structures from the state and zonal levels down to the LGA and ward levels, emphasized that their mobilization is inspired by the life-changing programs of Her Excellency’s pet project, BERWO Foundation.
The statement was affirmed by leaders of the group representing women’s groups ranging from clan-based organizations, non-profits, support groups, and individual women’s groups who have been mobilizing for weeks. Stakeholders present during the solidarity march included representatives from all 13 LGAs, underscoring the statewide spread of the movement.
The leaders explained that the administration of Governor Nwifuru has positively impacted lives across Ebonyi State through the interventions of the BERWO Foundation. They acknowledged the foundation’s efforts in saving thousands of Ebonyi women from complications during childbirth, providing shelter for vulnerable women, offsetting hospital bills for indigent women and children, enrolling Ebonyians in health insurance, covering full medical expenses for hernia surgeries, and fighting child trafficking with unwavering commitment.
Specifically, the leaders acknowledged the saying that “behind every successful man is a supportive woman,” noting that it perfectly captures Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, whose leadership through BERWO has bettered the lives of Ebonyi women. They called on party members to be united and work towards the progress of the state, and solicited continued support for the administration of Governor Nwifuru in his quest to deliver on his shared prosperity agenda.
It reads, “The group noted the unprecedented interventions of the BERWO Foundation in the areas of maternal health, shelter provision, medical support, health insurance, and social welfare, which have directly improved the lives of women and children across the state.”
The Nneoha Support Group noted that it is in the interest of Ebonyi State to continue to support Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in furtherance of socio-economic development.
They resolved to continue mobilizing all interest groups across the state to sustain support for the Governor’s administration, citing his sterling performance in office.
The statement of solidarity was presented during the march in Abakaliki. Equally, the group appreciated Her Excellency, the wife of the Governor, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, for her leadership ingenuity in using her pet project, BERWO, to better the lives of Ebonyi women.
