Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has vowed to mobilise against Rabiu Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 general elections, in remarks that come amid reports that the former Kano governor has been urging supporters to align with the ADC.
Dokubo made the declaration in a video circulating on social media, accusing Kwankwaso of attempting to mislead Muslim voters and expressing confidence that Kano residents would reject him at the polls.
“I will be at the forefront of campaigning against Rabiu Kwankwaso in the 2027 election. He thinks he can sell Muslims for kobo kobo… Kano will surprise you this time, but we are going to disappoint him,” he said.
He further alleged that Kwankwaso was positioning himself to manipulate political sentiments, using strong language to question his credibility among Northern voters.
Kwankwaso’s recent exit from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and alignment with the ADC has intensified political activity within opposition ranks, with consultations and counter-mobilisation already gaining momentum ahead of 2027.
Kwankwaso has yet to respond to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
