The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Primary Committee, Taofik Abdulsalam has disclosed that 90 aspirants are currently jostling for the 32 seats at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He also revealed that all governorship aspirants of the party were cleared for the primary slated for Friday.
Abdulsalam made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at the APC State Secretariat in Ibadan on Wednesday.
Abdulsalam who was flanked by the Chairman of the elections monitoring team, Ayo Afolabi noted that his committee has gone to different wards to monitor the primary elections.
He said that 90 aspirants collected the House of Assembly nomination forms under the party, adding that all the aspirants were cleared and are contesting.
The Committee Chair also revealed that contrary to the rumour of disqualification of some aspirants, all of them were cleared.
According to him, “We have been on the field since Tuesday. We have covered the primary elections for House of Assembly seats in Oyo State. By the grace of God, the results will be announced by the National Headquarters of the party.
“The State House of Assembly is very crucial, that is why the party put in place this committee. Everyone that obtained the forms have been cleared. No one was disqualified. Ninety aspirants obtained the forms. All of them were cleared. All aspirants of the governorship seat were also cleared”.
