Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged northern-based professionals in the creative industry to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, stressing the importance of fairness and national unity.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima made the call on Wednesday while receiving a delegation of Northern Performing Artists under the auspices of Triple-R For Renewed Hope at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign office in Abuja.

Shettima said the North stood to benefit significantly from the Tinubu administration’s creative economy initiatives, assuring the artists that the Federal Government would continue to support the growth of the entertainment industry in the region.

According to him, policies under the administration were designed to empower local talent, preserve culture and create economic opportunities through the creative arts.

The Vice President also assured the delegation that the government would continue to roll out targeted interventions for regional artists, filmmakers and musicians, while urging them to remain committed to the administration and the APC.

Shettima said the benefits of the government’s programmes and policies would continue to manifest across different sectors in the coming months and years.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, said the re-election bid of President Tinubu would be based on the administration’s performance and achievements.

Yari urged support groups and individuals to be guided by the record of the administration, while calling on creative industry professionals to disregard claims by political opponents that the North had been excluded from appointments and projects.

He maintained that the region had been fairly treated by the current administration and remained an integral part of the country’s democratic journey.

The Deputy Director-General, Parliamentary Mobilisation, APC Presidential Campaign Council and former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, thanked the creative industry professionals for their resolve to support all APC candidates, including President Tinubu.

Masari said the programmes and policies of the Tinubu administration were positively impacting the creative industries, urging professionals to leverage opportunities created by the government to improve their livelihoods.

Former Kano State Governor and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, also thanked the group for its support and urged them to stand for justice, fairness and inclusiveness.

Ganduje described Triple-R For Renewed Hope as one of the organic support groups of the APC in the country and advocated improved infrastructure and training for upcoming artistes from the region.

President of Triple-R For Renewed Hope, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, pledged the group’s support for the re-election of President Tinubu and other APC candidates across the North.

Rarara said northern creatives remained focused on building a united front to support Tinubu and regional APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He said the support of northern-based professionals was organic and based on the performance of the administration, adding that professionals in the northern film industry were united in backing the party’s candidates.

The National Chairman of the group, Lawan Ahmad, and its Secretary, Ahmad Bifa, separately expressed their readiness to work for the success of President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

They also sought Federal Government support for the reorganisation of the creative industry in northern Nigeria, particularly through the provision of infrastructure and improved welfare for professionals.
