31-day project commissioning in FCT to mark Tinubu’s 3rd year — Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced plans for a 31-day series of project inaugurations across Abuja to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third year in office.

Speaking at a political luncheon in Port Harcourt, Wike said the extended commissioning schedule would showcase major infrastructural developments delivered under the current administration, crediting the President’s backing for the pace of work in the FCT.

He explained that the projects to be commissioned include major road networks, public utilities, and urban renewal initiatives aimed at transforming the capital city.

According to him, the month-long programme reflects the scale of ongoing development in Abuja.

“This third year of Mr. President alone, we are taking 31 days for commissioning of projects in Abuja. I’m not talking about boreholes. I challenge anybody to contradict this,” he said.

Wike maintained that the rapid delivery of infrastructure in the FCT demonstrates purposeful leadership and challenged critics to match the level of work being executed.

Beyond the commissioning plans, the minister also made a reconciliatory appeal to political actors in Rivers State, declaring forgiveness for past political disputes.

“I use this opportunity today to announce that I have forgiven everybody,” he said, urging opponents and allies to return home and work together in unity.

He added that prolonged political conflict was no longer productive and called for reconciliation among stakeholders.

However, Wike also reiterated confidence in his political structure in Rivers State, describing it as a strong and united “rainbow coalition.”

He warned against external interference in the state’s politics, insisting that attempts to destabilise Rivers State would be resisted.

Wike further expressed confidence in the strength of his political base, suggesting that his group remains well-positioned for future elections and long-term political dominance.
