The Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has alleged that operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps are being deployed to guard a private power facility owned by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s elder brother, Dr Deji Adeleke, in Ondo State.
In a press statement on Monday by the Director General of the campaign, Wole Oke, the Council said “credible intelligence reports” show no fewer than 50 Amotekun operatives have been stationed at Pacific Energy Company, Ondo State.
“The Osun State All Progressives Congress Governorship Campaign Council has expressed grave concern over credible intelligence reports indicating that operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps are being deployed to provide security for a private business facility owned by the elder brother of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Dr Deji Adeleke,” the statement noted.
The statement said the operatives were reportedly led by Commander Aseye Matthew Olusola and one Kazeem Raji.
“This disturbing development raises fundamental questions about the priorities of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration at a time when residents of Osun State are facing growing security threats from kidnappers, armed criminals and other violent elements operating across the Southwest,” the council said.

It added, “It is both shocking and unacceptable that personnel recruited, trained and funded with the resources of Osun State taxpayers could allegedly be diverted from their constitutional responsibility of protecting the people of Osun to serve as guards for a private family business located outside the state’s territorial jurisdiction.”
The council further alleged the death of an operative deployed to the facility. It named the operative as Mr Abdullahi Adedeji from Egbedore Local Government Area.
“According to information available to us, the officer in April 2026 was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way to Ondo to report at the strange duty post, sustaining severe head injuries.
“Rather than offering him immediate and adequate medical attention, we are informed that he was ordered by his superiors to return to his hometown and fend for himself. Tragically, the officer reportedly died afterwards due to the absence of proper medical care and support,” the council added.
The statement also accused Governor Adeleke of accessing N14.9 billion in security votes up till last year.
“Yet, the administration has failed to demonstrate any significant investment in strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies in the state,” it added.
