The Osun State Home of Meeting has handed a vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke, endorsing him for a second time period forward of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Throughout its plenary session on Tuesday, all 25 lawmakers current — 24 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC) — threw their weight behind Adeleke’s management, praising his achievements and dedication to the event of Osun State.
A press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, confirmed the unanimous endorsement, which additionally coincided with celebrations marking the governor’s sixty fifth birthday.
Speaker of the Home, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, recommended Adeleke’s efficiency, stating that the governor had made seen impacts by his five-point improvement agenda.
“Lawmakers, as representatives of the folks, take satisfaction within the governor’s management, and we urge him to proceed striving for even larger accomplishments,” Egbedun stated.

Supporting the movement, Hon. Simeone Popoola of Boripe/Boluwaduro State Constituency described Adeleke as a “plain-minded, loving and real” chief whose character had helped drive efficient governance within the state.
The movement for the vote of confidence was initiated by Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Obokun Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Taofiq Olayiwola (Ede South Constituency). It was handed with a convincing refrain of “Ayes” within the chamber, in keeping with the official assertion.
Governor Adeleke, who assumed workplace in November 2022, is anticipated to hunt re-election when his present time period ends in 2026. This endorsement by the Meeting marks a major increase to his political capital heading into the second half of his tenure.
