Factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammad, has pledged to finish what he described as years of impunity, manipulation, and disrespect for the celebration’s structure.
Mohammad made the declaration on Tuesday in the course of the inauguration of the celebration’s new Board of Trustees on the official residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He described the occasion as “a symbol of rebirth” and the start of a brand new period of transparency and accountability inside the celebration.
The factional chairman, previously the PDP National Vice Chairman (North Central), assumed workplace following the suspension of the celebration’s National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, by a faction led by the PDP National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu. Anyanwu’s group had introduced Mohammad as appearing chairman in Damagum’s place.
In his handle, Mohammad lamented that the PDP had misplaced its ethical stability because of years of inside disunity and disrespect for court docket orders.
“For too long, impunity became culture, and internal democracy became an afterthought. But today, we have reached the point of renewal,” he stated.
He attributed the celebration’s decline to the abandonment of zoning ideas forward of the 2015 elections, including that Tuesday’s inauguration marked a turning level within the PDP’s historical past.

“Today marks a significant turning point in the life of the Peoples Democratic Party. We have come together, not merely to inaugurate a new Board of Trustees, but to renew our faith in the ideals that gave birth to this great political family — justice, fairness, inclusivity, and respect for the rule of law,” he stated.
Mohammad charged the newly inaugurated BoT members to see their roles as a “sacred trust” slightly than a reward for loyalty, urging them to “speak truth to power” and uphold the values of equity and justice inside the celebration.
After the ceremony, the factional chairman held a closed-door assembly with key celebration figures, together with former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, PDP National Secretary Senator Sam Anyanwu, and former Abia North Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
