Abroad-based Nigerian lady shares her experience with racism after she microwaved Jollof rice and goat meat at work

An abroad-based Nigerian lady, Lola, has narrated her experience with food-related racism at work.

According to Lola, after she microwaved Jollof rice and goat meat at work and her Caucasian colleague gushed over the aroma, describing it as “divine.”

However, the next day, management posted a sign asking staff to use the downstairs microwave for “ethnic food.”

“Like the day I microwaved jollof rice with goat meat and someone said “oh that smells divine”. Next day I saw a sign saying “please use downstairs microwave for ethnic food,” she wrote.
