Abu Trica To Be Sent To Notorious Prison In US Where Puff Daddy And Venezuelan President Are

Ghanaian lawyer Ralph Agyapong has claimed that Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, could be held at the same notorious U.S. detention facility that has previously housed music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, following his extradition to the United States.

Abu Trica was extradited to the U.S. on July 9, 2026, to face trial on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, connected to an alleged $8 million romance fraud scheme that targeted elderly victims across the United States.

The offences carry a maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment if he is convicted.

According to Lawyer Ralph Agyapong in an interview with Neat FM, Abu Trica is likely to be placed in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, a facility that gained international attention after housing Combs during his own federal criminal proceedings and, more recently, Maduro following his capture and transfer to the U.S. in January 2026.

The lawyer’s remarks add to the wave of public commentary surrounding Abu Trica’s case since his extradition, though the claim about his specific detention location has not been officially confirmed by U.S. authorities.

Abu Trica’s legal team in Ghana had previously raised concerns that his extradition proceeded before Ghanaian courts had fully ruled on the matter, citing constitutional concerns.
