A lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), Adamawa State, Dr. Simon Stephen Mshelia, has d!ed after collapsing on the road.
It was gathered that Mshelia reportedly collapsed along Kachia Road in Kaduna State after visiting his construction site on Monday, July 13, 2026.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred shortly after he left the site.
The news of his sudden d3ath has sent shockwaves through family, friends, colleagues, and members of the community.
The management of the university confirmed the development in a condolence message.
“It is with profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God that the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), announces the passing away of Dr. Simon Stephen Mshelia of the Department of Geography, who departed this life today, 13th July 2026,” the message read.
“Dr. Mshelia was a dedicated academic, an inspiring mentor, and a committed member of the University community whose invaluable contributions to teaching, research, and service will remain a lasting legacy.
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff, and Students of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Department of Geography, colleagues, friends, and all those affected by this painful loss.
“As the University mourns this irreplaceable loss, we pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, grants the departed eternal rest and comforts his family, loved ones, and the entire University community with the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss.”
