At only 12 years old, Adhara Pérez Sánchez is already gaining global attention for her remarkable achievements in science and technology.
The Mexico City-born prodigy reportedly has an IQ of 162 and has completed two university degrees in systems engineering and industrial engineering. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mathematics.
Adhara’s journey has not been easy. She was diagnosed with autism at age three and faced bullying during her early years. She also struggled in traditional classrooms that did not meet her learning needs.
Despite these challenges, she continued to excel. At age seven, she survived a serious health crisis that left her in a coma. Today, she is recognised as an inspiration in the STEM field and has even appeared on the cover of Marie Claire Mexico.
Her ambitions go beyond academic success. Adhara dreams of travelling to Mars and becoming a NASA astronaut. She currently works as an ambassador for the Mexican Space Agency and continues to prepare for a future in space exploration.
She also uses her platform to encourage more young women and members of the Latino community to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Adhara wants people to see autism differently. She believes it is not a limitation but a different way of thinking that can lead to extraordinary achievements.
