The Nigerian Air Force has eliminated several terrorists following a precision airstrike on a known enclave in the Sambisa Forest.
The operation, conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeted a location identified as Yuwe within the forest axis.
According to military sources, the strike was carried out on April 19 at about 5:45 p.m. using coordinated air assets, including the Phantom Formation and the Grey Raptor platform, as part of ongoing battlefield interdiction efforts.
The mission followed credible intelligence supported by surveillance and reconnaissance, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist elements and fortified structures, including suspected bunkers in the area.
On reaching the target, air crews identified and engaged designated positions with precision munitions, resulting in the destruction of multiple logistics facilities, shelters, and operational hideouts.
Several terrorists were reportedly killed during the strike.
Military authorities said the operation forms part of sustained joint offensives aimed at weakening terrorist networks, cutting off their supply lines, and restricting their movement within the theatre of operations.
The high command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on insurgent groups through coordinated air and ground operations, noting that intelligence-driven strikes will continue to target remaining enclaves and restore stability in affected regions.
