Aliko Dangote Foundation Spends N1.5bn on Bayero University’s PG college students

Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF), chaired by Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) value N1.5 billion with Bayero University Kano (BUK), for post-graduate college students of the Dangote Business School positioned within the tertiary establishment.

The MoU, which was signed on the predominant auditorium of the Dangote Business School, Kano on Tuesday, offers a sum of ₦300 million yearly over 5 years as scholarship awards to all eligible MBA, entrepreneurship, and administration postgraduate college students.

Under the MoU, collectively signed by Member, Board of Trustees of the ADF, Hajiya Mariya Aliko Dangote and the Vice Chancellor of the Bayero University, Prof. Haruna Musa, every beneficiary will obtain ₦150,000 per session, starting with the 2024/25 educational session. This is equal to 50 per cent of the present N300,000 price paid by the post-graduate college students. There are 1,225 college students within the Business School (696 contemporary and 529 returning college students).

Prof. Haruna Musa, Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, who lauded the initiative, stated, “This support comes at a critical time for many families. Beyond financial relief, it strengthens the Business School’s role as a centre for developing entrepreneurial and management talent, particularly for women who are increasingly taking leadership roles in enterprise.
