Gombe State All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The decision was announced on Sunday, following an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who also serves as the party leader in the state.
A statement by the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Â said the meeting reached a unanimous agreement to adopt Gwamna, alongside consensus candidates for other elective positions.

The stakeholders also ratified candidates for the state’s three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats and all 24 State House of Assembly constituencies, signalling a broad application of the consensus approach across the state.
A party source at the meeting said the move was aimed at strengthening unity and avoiding divisive primaries ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The consensus arrangement reflects collective interest and strategic alignment within the party,” the source noted.
