The National Women Mobilisation Directorate of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has congratulated First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on her conferment with traditional titles in Imo and Anambra states.
The First Lady was honoured with the title of Oso Di Eme 1 of Imo State and Ugoeze of Anambra State during her recent engagements in the South-East.
Director of Women Mobilisation, Betta Edu, described the honours as recognition of Senator Tinubu’s contributions to national development, social intervention programmes and the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.
Edu said the title Oso Di Eme, which means “she who supports her husband”, aptly reflects the First Lady’s role in supporting President Bola Tinubu and his administration.
She said, “Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the Mother of the Nation, is indeed a worthy partner of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“As he is working, she is working. As the President continues to serve the nation, the First Lady has equally remained committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda through her various social intervention programmes.”
The APC women’s mobilisation directorate also congratulated the First Lady on her conferment with the Ugoeze title in Anambra by the traditional ruler of the community, HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka.
Edu said the honours from the two South-East states demonstrated growing recognition of Senator Tinubu’s impact beyond political and geographical boundaries.
She noted that the First Lady’s visit to Anambra included the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme, designed to tackle child malnutrition across the South-East.
According to Edu, the completion of the zonal rollout of the programme across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones represents a major milestone in efforts to improve child nutrition and support vulnerable families.
At the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Senator Tinubu also inaugurated the RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre and urged students to embrace technology responsibly while exploring emerging opportunities, including artificial intelligence.
She further flagged off the distribution of empowerment items provided by the Anambra State Government to 5,000 beneficiaries, with each beneficiary receiving a ₦100,000 grant.
Edu commended the governments, people and traditional institutions of Imo and Anambra for honouring the First Lady, describing the titles as a testament to her contributions to the welfare and development of Nigerians.
She wished Senator Tinubu continued wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance as she supports the President and contributes to the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
