The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has met with President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Oyebamiji disclosed this in a statement posted on his official X handle on Friday, saying his discussions with the President focused on the outcome of the just-concluded governorship election and developments arising from the exercise.
According to him, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the “steadfastness, commitment and resilience” of APC members and supporters in the state.
Oyebamiji said the President also reiterated his desire for a more united and stronger APC in Osun State.

He added that Tinubu emphasised the need to maintain peace among residents of the state, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Mr President further emphasised the need to sustain peaceful coexistence among our people, particularly as we approach the 2027 general elections,” Oyebamiji said.
The APC candidate also disclosed that he held a separate meeting with Shettima before leaving the Presidential Villa.
Oyebamiji said the Vice President offered words of encouragement and solidarity to members and leaders of the Osun APC following the election.
“His words of encouragement and solidarity provided further assurance that the leaders and members of the Osun APC are not alone in this challenging period,” he said.
Oyebamiji, who contested the election against the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the APC remained committed to pursuing justice and defending democratic values.
“As a party, we remain resolute, united and committed to the pursuit of justice, the defence of our democratic values and the continued progress of Osun State,” he said.
