A lady has narrated how a brief encounter with a fellow passenger ended unexpectedly after he insisted he would not leave his money with a woman over a transport fare change.
According to the lady, both of them had boarded the same commercial bus when the conductor combined their outstanding balances before quickly driving away.
She explained that the man was owed ₦300 while she was meant to receive ₦200, but the conductor handed her the entire ₦500.
The lady said the man immediately demanded his share, insisting he would not allow a woman to keep his money.
Rather than separating the cash and returning only his ₦300, she decided to hand over the entire ₦500 before walking away.
Passenger’s remark sparks unexpected response
Recounting the incident, the lady said, “Aunty I no dey leave my money for woman”. She explained that the statement came immediately after the conductor drove off with the combined change.
She added that she responded by saying, “when you reach house tell your family members that a woman dashed you money for the first time in your life“. She said she then left the scene while the man remained standing and staring at her.
Story attracts reactions online
The lady suggested she found the man’s reaction surprising, noting that the amount involved was only ₦300 and insisting she had never asked him for financial assistance.
Her account has since generated reactions on social media, with many users debating whether the passenger’s comment was necessary.
Others praised the lady’s response, while some argued that the misunderstanding could have been resolved by simply sharing the ₦500 according to the amount each person was owed.
