Baba Malam Wali Wins Yobe APC Gubernatorial Primary Election With 236,711 Votes

In a decisive victory, Baba Malam Wali has been declared the winner of the Yobe State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election, held under the auspices of the committee chaired by Dr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development. Wali secured an impressive 236,711 votes, cementing his position as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections.*

The primary election, noted for its transparency and organization, saw various contenders vying for the party’s nomination. However, the results clearly favored Wali, who emerged far ahead of his closest rivals. Abubakar Bukar Kagu garnered 9,748 votes, while Bashir Sherrif Machina received 1,894 votes. Other candidates included Ma’aji Modu 1,371, Yunusa Mustapha with 1,178 votes, Inusa Muhammad with 1,148 votes, and Hamid Muhammad Alhaji, who managed to secure 1,722 votes.

Wali was presented with a certificate of return by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee.

In his acceptance speech, Baba Malam Wali expressed deep gratitude towards key figures within the party. He thanked the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, and the party executives for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and rancor-free electoral process.
