Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie and her husband, Abasi Ene-Obong, have welcomed their first child together.
The actress shared the heartwarming news on Instagram on Wednesday, June 24, which also marks her birthday.
In an emotional post, Ini revealed that she chose to forgo her usual birthday photoshoot and glamorous celebration this year. Instead, she shared a photo taken on the day her son was born, describing it as the moment her life changed forever.
Reflecting on her journey into motherhood, the new mum said this year’s birthday feels especially meaningful because she is celebrating it as a mother for the very first time.
According to her, motherhood has been the most humbling, challenging, and rewarding role she has ever experienced. She described the past few weeks as a mix of beautiful moments, exhaustion, overwhelming emotions, and immense joy.
Ini also gushed about her newborn son, whom she described as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples,” adding that getting to know him and watching him grow has been the greatest gift of her life.
The actress said the experience has revealed strengths she never knew she possessed while giving her a deeper appreciation for mothers everywhere. She admitted that the newborn stage has been far more demanding than she imagined but noted that she would not trade the experience for anything.
Expressing gratitude, Ini said she feels honored that God entrusted her with the responsibility of raising her son and thanked her family, friends, and fans for their prayers, support, and kindness throughout this new chapter of her life.
She concluded her heartfelt message by celebrating not only another year of life but also the privilege of being a mother.
