Bolarinwa Submits APC Gubernatorial Form, Vows To Tackle Insecurity In Kwara

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, has formally submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, signalling the start of his campaign for the 2027 election.

NewsWatch Nigeria reports that Bolarinwa submitted the forms in Abuja on Saturday.

Speaking after the submission, Bolarinwa said tackling insecurity would be a top priority if elected.

He raised concerns over rising banditry and humanitarian challenges across parts of the state.

“It is my wish, by the grace of God, to enhance the quality of life, health and making our people to be better than the way the situation is. Most importantly, the issue of insecurity that has taken over the entire State – the Kwara North, the Kwara South, where I come from – most of the places are now deserted. There are so many humanitarian crisis as a result of bandit attacks.

“This is one area which must be tackled head-on and I want to say that it’s going to be one of the things that will top our agenda,” he said.

The aspirant also highlighted plans to improve social services, including healthcare, education, and welfare.

According to him, governance must translate into tangible benefits for citizens, especially in areas affecting their daily lives.

“Access to quality health, education and social welfare will receive priority attention under my leadership,” he added.

Bolarinwa said his administration would be driven by a people-focused vision aimed at expanding opportunities and improving living standards.

All other things that are necessary to make life better for the people… especially agriculture, education and health services, will also be attended to,” he said.

The APC aspirant expressed confidence in emerging as the next governor of the state.

He commended the incumbent governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his efforts in office.

I pray and wish that I will be the one that will succeed the incumbent governor,” he said.

Bolarinwa noted that his political career spans roles as councillor, local government chairman, and member of the House of Representatives.

He was accompanied by party supporters and members of the Egbe Omo Igbomina FCT Chapter during the submission of his forms.
