The meeting comes at a time when northern states are facing major concerns around security, economic development, education, agriculture and youth employment.

There is also speculation that political issues, including preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, could feature in the discussions, although there is no official confirmation of this.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to provide more clarity on the issues discussed and any decisions reached by the participants.
