The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its readiness for the 2027 general election, saying it has completed its nomination process nationwide and is prepared to contest elections in every constituency across the country.
According to a report by Vanguard on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the opposition party also introduced measures aimed at strengthening loyalty among its candidates. Under the arrangement, candidates whose names will be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must sign undertakings affirming their commitment to remain members of the party.
The announcement was made during the presentation of Certificates of Return to 21 governorship candidates who emerged from the party’s nomination process.
