Nyesom Wike has dismissed calls by the opposition for an independent probe into allegations that President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, was involved with a fictitious government agency. He defended the Chief of Staff, stating that he knows him very well and believes the allegations are a deliberate, politically motivated smear campaign designed to embarrass the administration.
Speaking during a media chat, he argued that it is highly illogical for a Chief of Staff to create budget heads for a non-existent agency just to siphon 450 million naira. He strongly criticized the accuser for running into hiding instead of presenting concrete evidence to security agencies to back up his claims.
