Speaking during a telephone interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Adeyemi maintained that the allegations against him were unfounded and expressed confidence that the court would eventually clear his name.
He stressed that the matter was already before a competent court and said he was prepared to abide by whatever judgment the legal process delivered.
Responding to questions about whether he was avoiding arrest or attempting to evade justice, Adeyemi firmly denied the claim.
He stated that if the court found him guilty, he would accept the outcome, but if innocent, he expected the judiciary to vindicate him.
He also disclosed that he possesses a letter of appointment but declined to reveal further details because the case is currently in court.
According to him, his legal team is handling the matter while he is also receiving medical treatment due to illness.
Adeyemi also rejected suggestions that he was a criminal, insisting that only the court could determine the truth of the allegations.
When asked directly if Gbajabiamila was aware of his appointment, he answered in the affirmative, adding that the confirmation came through the Chief of Staff’s office.
Addressing Nigerians, Adeyemi argued that it would have been impossible for him to spend nearly three years meeting with heads of ministries, departments, and agencies across the country if the organisation he represented did not exist.
He questioned why anyone would risk openly carrying out such activities if everything had been fabricated.
He maintained that Nigeria’s institutions would not have allowed such actions to continue for years if his claims were entirely false, urging the public to allow the courts to determine the facts of the case.
