BREAKING: Atiku Is Full Of Himself. You Can See That He Still Lives As Though He Is A Vice President – Lawal

In an interview published by The Sun Nigeria on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Lawal asserted that the former Vice President’s influence seeking behavior spans every tier of political structure, from local polling units to the highest executive levels.

Lawal contrasted this approach with his own political philosophy, which emphasizes individual autonomy and the freedom for others to pursue their ambitions without interference or micromanagement.

The former SGF further expressed his disapproval of Atiku’s public persona, suggesting that the veteran politician remains perpetually attached to the trappings of his former office.

He added, “In politics, you focus on your own lane, pursue whatever ambition you have, and allow others to pursue their own ambitions at whatever level they choose to participate. But Atiku Abubakar is full of himself. As a simple illustration, you can see that he still lives as though he is a vice president.”

According to Lawal, Atiku continues to utilize long motorcades and road clearing protocol officers similar to those deployed for a sitting president, alongside frequent travel in private jets.

Lawal argued that these displays reflect an internalized, misplaced belief that the public exists to serve him, rather than the inverse.

This conduct, he maintained, is something he fundamentally rejects.

This comment follows a deterioration in their relationship after the contentious African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election.

The electoral process, which saw Atiku secure victory, was decried by Lawal as a disgraceful exercise marked by irregularities and orchestration.
