Mrs. Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, who were abducted earlier this week, have regained their freedom.
A senior police source in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, confirmed to The Punch that the victims were rescued on Friday night.

This incident comes months after a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Wale Oriade, was abducted in Ibadan in December 2025. Eyewitnesses said Oriade was seized by two armed men in a blue Micra vehicle outside his office at PJ Square Shopping Complex along Akala Expressway.
The precision and nature of the attacks have raised concerns about security in the area. Police investigations are ongoing, and further details are awaited.
