In a video shared by News Central TV on Saturday, June 20, 2026, Audu Lankai, a bandit leader, has narrated how he had lost some of his men during an altercation with vigilantes in the Jibia local government of Katsina state.
Lankai revealed that he had signed a peace pact with the leaders in the Jibia community, but recently, he and his men were attacked by vigilantes, leading to the death of some of his boys.
However, in the video, the bandits’ leader, Audu Lankai, expressed his readiness to continue with the peace deal if the Jibia community could return his arms and corpses of his boys that were murdered during the altercation.
In his words, “I am fully aware that my boys killed fifteen persons; if you were in the same position, you would have behaved the same way. If they return my arms and corpses of my boys, I am forever ready to continue with the peace.”
