The Lagos State Baales’ Forum, the apex body of traditional community heads across the 20 local government areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), has concluded plans to hold a grand Special Congregational Prayer and Mobilisation Rally.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Baales’ Forum, the Convener, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, and the state Chairman and Oba-elect of Ijeododo Kingdom, High Chief Abu Jelili Ododo, said the historic event is dedicated to seeking Divine guidance, peace and progress for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, alongside the entire residents of the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Concurrently, the Forum said that it will officially flag-off its “Operation Show Your PVC” civic awareness campaign on Tuesday, 23rd of June, 2026, in Lagos.
According to him, “It is a Divine call for national unity and continuity in line with a comprehensive divisional stakeholders’ meeting held in Ikeja.”
He said the traditional rulers reached a unanimous resolution to back the current leadership at both the federal and state levels.
“The upcoming congregational prayer session serves as a spiritual and civic platform to actively support the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and formally endorse Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the preferred choice for the next Executive Governor of Lagos State, “he said.
Bamigbade and Ododo emphasized that traditional institutions have a structural duty to protect the peace of their communities, as well as champion proven, and progressive governance.
The Forum highlighted the specific pillars guiding this major mobilization effort.
“Respect for traditional institutions: President Tinubu has historically elevated the welfare of community leaders by institutionalizing salary structures and providing vital utility vehicles to enable efficient grassroots governance,” they noted.
Harping on economic reforms, the traditional leaders expressed absolute confidence in the Federal Government’s economic policies to sustainably reposition Nigeria.
On administrative continuity, the Forum identified Dr. Hamzat’s deep administrative experience as the critical element needed to protect and expand the “Greater Lagos” developmental blueprint.
“Event Objectives Interfaith Prayer: to gather interdenominational and cross-religious leaders to intercede for national security, economic prosperity, and the health of our leaders,” he said.
According to him, a grassroots campaign has commenced to activate traditional networks across the 57 local councils to conduct voter card registration sensitization.
