The former Anambra State governor said his experience is not unique, arguing that many opposition politicians across the country are facing similar challenges. According to him, the political atmosphere has become increasingly restrictive, with opposition figures allegedly being denied opportunities and privileges that should ordinarily be available to them.
Obi also recounted an incident at an airport where he claimed his vehicle was prevented from moving while other vehicles were allowed to pass. He described the episode as part of what he believes is a wider pattern of actions directed against him and other members of the opposition.
He further alleged that some of his associates have become reluctant to appear with him in public, claiming that concerns over possible consequences have discouraged people from openly associating with him.
Expressing his concerns, Obi stated, “Not even a candidate. I might not even be alive to contest in 2027. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it.”
