According to a report by The Punch on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the winner of Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election. With this victory, the incumbent governor secures his re-election for a second term in office.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Adenike Oladiji, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), announced the final results in the early hours of Sunday at the INEC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
