In an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, July 2nd 2026, Kenneth Okonkwo, who served as the campaign spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, has denied claims that he betrayed Obi by accepting a position as the spokeswoman for Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okonkwo confirmed his new role in Atiku’s political camp and said his focus had shifted to promoting the former vice president’s political agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.
