According to report by The Nation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in a surprising outcome from the ward-level results, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, was unable to secure victory for her party in her own ward, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged with the highest number of votes.
The result showed that the PDP polled 120 votes to finish ahead of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which recorded 92 votes.
Other political parties had only a marginal presence in the ward, with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) securing four votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) received one vote each.
