According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Dominic Alancha, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, has urged the party to nominate a different candidate for the 2027 governorship election, arguing that Governor Hyacinth Alia lacks the popularity and performance record needed to secure victory for the party.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Alancha maintained that retaining Alia as the APC flag bearer would significantly reduce the party’s chances of winning the governorship poll.
