Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has emerged as the overall winner of the prestigious Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) Faculty Capstone Project Competition held in Victoria Island, Lagos, after outperforming teams from some of Nigeria’s leading universities.
The university clinched the top prize following a keenly contested competition involving representatives from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria; the University of Ibadan; the University of Lagos; the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and the University of Port Harcourt.

BUK’s victory was attributed to the team’s exceptional performance, innovation, and outstanding teamwork throughout the competition, earning the institution national recognition.
The winning delegation comprised Dr. Shukrah Bello, Dr. Adamu Abubakar Rasheed, Dr. Halima Abdulkadir Idris, Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Dauda, and Dr. Adenekan Lanre Qasim.
Reacting to the achievement, the team expressed appreciation to the management of Bayero University, Kano, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, FSI, for its unwavering support, encouragement, and commitment to staff development, which they said played a significant role in their susuccess.
