The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally introduced Certificates of Return to winners of the August 16 by-elections throughout the nation.
The presentation, which occurred on Thursday, August 21, on the fee’s headquarters in Abuja, was carried out by INEC National Commissioners on behalf of the Chairman.
Those honoured included Emmanuel Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who clinched the Anambra South senatorial seat, and Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of the Edo Central Senatorial District election.
Five House of Representatives members-elect additionally acquired their certificates.

They are Barrister Omosede Igbinedion of the APC, representing Ovie North East and Ovie South West Federal Constituency of Edo State; Mukhtar Rabi’u Garki of the APC, for Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa State; Fidelix Bagudu of the APC, elected for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State
Others embrace Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji of the APC, for Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State; and Fola Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
The issuance of certificates formally confirms the lawmakers-elect as representatives of their constituencies within the National Assembly.
