Chaos at Oshodi! Massive Crowds Overwhelm Pedestrian Bridge in Lagos as Frustrated Commuters Battle for Space to Cross

A trending video making rounds on social media today, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, has captured heavy crowds of pedestrians on the alternative pedestrian bridge in Oshodi, Lagos. Many people were seen moving slowly in a tight pack during the morning rush hour as they tried to cross to different parts of the busy transport hub.

The situation happened because the main pedestrian bridge linking Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3 remains closed. Lagos State Government shut it down earlier this year after reports that it was shaking and had safety problems. Commuters now have only one bridge to use, and during peak periods, it quickly becomes overcrowded. Watch video here

Oshodi is one of Lagos’s busiest areas, with many buses, trains, and people moving in and out every day. When officials from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) team also arrest those who try to cross the road directly, more people are forced onto the single bridge. This has led to slow movement, pushing, and discomfort for many.

The video, first shared widely by Instablog9ja this morning, has drawn thousands of views and comments online. Many Lagosians expressed frustration over the long-standing issue.
