Nollywood veteran Chiwetalu Agu has shared his deep thoughts and opinions on relationships and marriage, urging young, single Nigerians not to focus fully on physical qualities when choosing a partner.
The actor via his X handle, explained that although virginity may represent purity, it does not automatically determine a person’s character or ability to build a successful marriage.
Agu emphasised the need for mutual understanding before tying the knot, stating that respect and kindness are what builds long lasting relationships.
“Keeping your virginity does not automatically make you wife material. Don’t marry a woman simply because she is a virgin, and the same thing applies to men. Virginity signifies purity, not loyalty, good character, emotional intelligence or emotional maturity. For the sake of your life, peace, happiness and sanity, choose someone whose character has been tested and proven. Marry someone who genuinely connects with you, someone who is kind, respectful, loving and emotionally mature,” he said.
He maintained that good character is the foundation of every lasting marriage.
