American R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray over an alleged 2023 nightclub brawl in London, meaning he will no longer face trial on several more serious charges.

Brown, 37, entered the plea on Friday while appearing before Southwark Crown Court in London.

Dressed in a beige suit and dark tie, the singer replied, “Guilty,” when the public order charge was read to him as he stood in the dock.

Prosecutors said Brown would not face trial for attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent or possessing an offensive weapon, identified as a bottle, in connection with the incident.

The prosecution told the court that the remaining charges would be formally dropped at a later date.
