Chris Ogugua urges men and women to be financially prepared before marriage

Nigerian preacher Chris Ogugua has advised both men and women to be financially and purposefully prepared before entering marriage.

Speaking during a sermon, Ogugua argued that, given current economic realities, raising a family should not be the responsibility of one person alone.

He said women who are not contributing anything to the relationship should reconsider their readiness for marriage.

He also encouraged women to carefully assess the vision, purpose, and financial stability of any man seeking to marry them, urging them to ask about his goals and plans for providing a stable future for a family.

According to him, many children are deprived of education and forced into street trading or other forms of labour because their parents lack the means to adequately provide for them.

Ogugua stressed that parents should strive to create better opportunities for their children, noting that the support and sacrifices made by parents often have a lasting impact on a child’s future.

He said …

“Any lady that is not bringing anything to the table today is not fit for marriage. Write it down o. The responsibility to raise a family right now cannot be carried by one man. Then if you see a young man without a vision, without a mission, without cash, don’t attach yourself to his life o. What he is carrying is far more than c@nc£r. Ask him, you want to marry me what is your mission? What do you have so my children won’t suff£r in your hands. Don’t you feel the pa!n when you walk the streets and you see children of men and women begging and carrying things on their heads. Children are f0rc£**d to feed their parents at their age, denying them the opportunity to go to school. Check your life, you are who you are today because of what your parents offered you. Your parents offered you nothing so you want to offer your children nothing?”
