Belgian champions Club Brugge have placed a €10 million asking price on Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika as negotiations with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt continue.
Frankfurt submitted an opening offer for the Nigerian international last week, but the proposal was rejected after Club Brugge deemed it below their valuation.
Despite the setback, discussions between both clubs are ongoing as they attempt to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes.
Onyedika keen on summer exit
Onyedika has entered the final year of his contract with Club Brugge, putting the Belgian club under pressure to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
According to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Club Brugge have made several attempts to extend the midfielder’s contract, but the 25-year-old has shown no interest in signing fresh terms as he pushes for a move away.
The Nigeria international is reportedly determined to take the next step in his career, with the Bundesliga emerging as his preferred destination.
Brugge lower valuation
Club Brugge’s current €10 million valuation represents a significant reduction from last summer, when the club turned down a €15 million offer from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for the defensive midfielder.
The Belgian champions are now expected to continue negotiations with Frankfurt in the hope of completing a deal before the end of the transfer window.
Onyedika has established himself as one of Club Brugge’s key midfielders since joining the club from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022.
His consistent performances have also made him a regular member of Nigeria’s senior national team, attracting interest from clubs across Europe’s top leagues.
