The lawmaker representing Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Leke Abejide, has stated the opposition coalition will collapse by September.
Abejide, who described himself because the “landlord” of the African Democratic Congress, made the declare whereas talking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Friday, August 22.

He additional argued that not one of the coalition leaders had roots within the ADC.
According to him, a former vp, Atiku Abubakar, and a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, weren’t card-carrying members of the celebration.
Abejide added that whereas a former Senate President, David Mark, and a former Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola, had joined the ADC, they held no management positions earlier than the coalition adopted the celebration.
In July 2025, the coalition had named the ADC as its political platform for the 2027 common elections. Mark and Aregbesola had been appointed interim chairman and nationwide secretary respectively.
Other members of the coalition embody a former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai, a former Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Dino Melaye, a former Sports Minister, Solomon Dalong, former Benue governor, Gabriel Suswam, and writer Dele Momodu.
Also within the coalition are Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, and a former Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar (retd.).
The ruling All Progressives Congress, nonetheless, has insisted that any coalition shaped towards President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition is not going to succeed.
