Pascal Okechukwu, Nigerian socialite widely known as Cubana Chief Priest has announced his intention to contest for a seat in the house of representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The celebrity figure made his ambition public during a visit to the APC secretariat in Imo State, where he met with party officials and disclosed his plan to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal Constituency of Imo State.
In a video shared online, Okechukwu said he had formally informed party leaders of his aspiration and received assurances of support.
“I made known to them my humble aspiration to represent my people… at the House of Representatives. Na God get power; let the will of God be done,” he said.
Party stakeholders at the meeting welcomed his declaration, describing him as a dynamic personality with the capacity to contribute meaningfully to politics.
“I don’t know if you’re a motivational speaker, a businessman, or a politician — you fit into all of them,” a party leader said, pledging support for his candidacy.
Cubana Chief Priest’s political move follows his growing involvement in partisan activities. He currently serves as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
His declaration adds to a growing trend of entertainers and public figures seeking elective offices ahead of 2027, signalling an evolving political landscape where celebrity influence is increasingly intersecting with governance ambitions.
