The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has taken a swipe on the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, accusing him of sidelining opposition events throughout his tenure.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, the eighth, of October, 2025, the CUPP National Secretary, Peter Ameh, mentioned Yakubu did not honour a number of commitments made to political events earlier than the 2023 basic elections.
His feedback got here only a day after Yakubu formally vacated workplace and handed over to May Agbamuche, the oldest serving National Commissioner, who now serves as appearing chairman.
