The Dala Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DALCCIMA) has been formally ratified and confirmed as a City Chamber by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), following a decision reached at the association’s Executive Committee/Council Meeting held in Port Harcourt.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by DALCCIMA’s Director General, Yusuf Shehu, on Wednesday, who described the development as a historic milestone for the chamber and a major boost to private sector representation in Kano State and Northern Nigeria.
According to the statement, the ratification was carried out in line with the provisions of the NACCIMA Constitution and marks a significant achievement in the growth and development of the chamber.
Shehu said the recognition reflected the collective vision, commitment and dedication of the chamber’s patrons, council members, trustees and general membership.
“This landmark achievement is a testament to the vision, commitment, and tireless efforts of our Patrons, the Council, Trustees, and all Members who have stood with DALCCIMA since inception,” he said.

He added that the ratification places DALCCIMA on the national stage as a recognised voice for businesses in Kano, with full rights and responsibilities within the NACCIMA movement.
With the new status, DALCCIMA joins the league of recognised city chambers across the country and will have direct access to NACCIMA’s policy advocacy platforms, trade missions and engagements with the Federal Government.
The statement noted that members of the chamber would benefit from capacity-building programmes, funding linkages, opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), as well as participation in national Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) initiatives being implemented under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It further stated that the chamber is expected to play a more strategic role in promoting ethical business practices, encouraging job creation among Kano youths, advancing economic growth and championing the values of *Aminci da Gaskiya* (Peace and Integrity) in business activities.
The director general expressed appreciation to the chamber’s patrons, council members, trustees and members for their contributions towards achieving the milestone.

“This ratification belongs to all of us. Allah ya cigaba da ba mu nasara,” Shehu said.
While celebrating the achievement, the chamber urged its members to remain active in its activities, pay membership dues promptly, participate fully in programmes and initiatives, and encourage more MSMEs, industrialists, traders, entrepreneurs and professionals to join the organisation.
The statement reaffirmed DALCCIMA’s commitment to protecting private sector interests, fostering strategic partnerships with government and development institutions, and contributing to the economic prosperity of Kano State and Nigeria.
It added that the chamber aims to become one of the strongest city chambers in the country and a leading model for private sector development.
