Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has officially opened applications for its 2026 Graduate Trainee Programme for young Nigerians interested in building careers in the oil and gas industry.
The announcement was made by Dangote Group through its official X account on May 7, 2026, as the company invited qualified graduates to apply for the programme aimed at developing future professionals for the refinery and petrochemical sector.
According to the information released by the company, the Graduate Trainee Programme is designed for “high-potential, vibrant and enthusiastic initiative-takers” who want to kick-start their careers in one of Africa’s biggest industrial companies.
The programme will run for 18 months, during which selected candidates will gain hands-on experience across various refinery operations while learning directly from experienced professionals within the organisation.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals stated that trainees will be exposed to different functions of refinery operations and business support services. Participants are also expected to develop technical skills, leadership capacity and industry experience while working in a global business environment.
The company explained that the programme is part of its effort to support growth within the organisation while preparing young Nigerian graduates for long-term careers in the energy sector.
Applications are open to graduates from several academic disciplines.
For technical positions, eligible applicants must possess a First Degree or Higher National Diploma in courses such as Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Sciences, Laboratory Sciences and Biochemistry.
For technical support roles, the company is accepting graduates from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Power Engineering disciplines.
Dangote also stated that support positions are available for graduates in Accounting and Finance, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business Administration, Law and Information Technology.
Applicants are required to have a minimum of Second Class Lower for degree holders, while HND applicants must possess at least an Upper Credit qualification.
Another important requirement released by the company is the age limit. Interested candidates must not be above 28 years old by May 31, 2026.
The refinery noted that applicants are expected to complete all sections of the application form accurately, warning that incomplete or false information may affect the application process.
The development has already attracted attention online as many young Nigerians continue searching for graduate opportunities in Nigeria’s highly competitive job market.
Dangote Refinery, located in Lekki, Lagos State, remains one of the largest industrial and energy projects in Africa. The facility continues to play a major role in petroleum refining and petrochemical production within Nigeria and across the continent.
