Donald Trump’s approval rating hits new low; Why Americans don’t like US President anymore? Real reason is…

US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen close to the lowest levels of his political career, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. The survey found that only 35% of Americans approve of his performance as president, reflecting growing concerns over economic pressures and the ongoing conflict with Iran.

The figure is just above Trump’s previous low points of 34% recorded in April and 33% during his first term in office in December 2017.

Economic concerns continue to hurt Trump

The poll suggests that rising living expenses remain a major source of frustration for voters. Many Americans are increasingly worried about everyday costs, particularly fuel prices, which have been influenced by instability in global energy markets.

Nearly six in ten respondents said they expect gasoline prices to increase further over the next year. In contrast, only 17% believe fuel costs will decline, while others remain uncertain about what lies ahead.

Poor ratings on cost-of-living issues

Among all policy areas, Trump received some of his weakest ratings on the cost of living.

Only 22% of respondents approved of the president’s handling of household expenses and inflation, while 70% expressed dissatisfaction. The findings highlight the growing political challenge Trump faces as Americans continue to grapple with higher prices.

Iran conflict adds to public anxiety

The ongoing conflict involving Iran has also emerged as a significant concern for voters.

The crisis began after US military strikes on Iran carried out in coordination with Israel on February 28. Since then, the confrontation has expanded, leading to retaliatory attacks on American and Israeli-linked interests across West Asia.

The conflict has now crossed the 100-day mark, raising fears about broader regional instability and its impact on global energy supplies.

Impact on global oil markets

A major concern has been disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Approximately 20% of global crude oil supplies pass through the narrow waterway.

Continued tensions in the region have increased uncertainty in energy markets, contributing to concerns about future fuel prices and inflation.

Americans divided over military strikes

Public opinion remains mixed on the US military action against Iran.

According to the survey, 36% of Americans support the strikes, while a smaller share believes the benefits outweigh the costs. Only 25% of respondents said the military action has been worthwhile.

Many Americans remain concerned that a prolonged conflict could lead to greater economic difficulties and further geopolitical instability.
